Monday release times and cancellations are not the same thing
GOV.UK says new appointments are released 24 weeks ahead at 6am on Mondays. Cancellations become available when existing bookings change. Its appointment-release guidance explains the difference.
That is why joining the Monday queue is not a complete strategy for someone trying to move an existing test forward. It may help with a new booking, but an earlier appointment can become available outside that weekly release.
Likewise, a time that worked for another learner is not a schedule for your centre. A screenshot from yesterday shows what happened then, not what your account will show today.
Look for a date you would actually take
Before checking repeatedly, settle the earliest date you could be ready. Speak to your instructor about your preparation and whether the test car could be available. Include work, study and other commitments that would affect attendance.

Check that your mobile number is right and that you will notice a relevant message. Have access to the official booking service, and know which dates need a quick conversation with your instructor before you can accept.
When an alert arrives, check the centre, date and time first. Then review the final booking details before confirming. Save the official confirmation and tell your instructor once the change is complete.
Use the official change-your-test guidance to check your remaining changes and any notice or fee conditions. A useful earlier appointment should improve your plans, not leave you with a booking you cannot use.
Which approach suits you?
If you can comfortably check the official service and respond to availability yourself, you may prefer to continue doing that. If repeated checks are difficult to fit around your day, independent alerts can be a practical addition.

Is 6am Monday the best time to find an earlier test?
Monday's scheduled release concerns new appointments. Earlier cancellations can appear at other times during the week, so do not treat 6am as their only release time.
Do cancellations appear at weekends?
There is no rule that earlier appointments only become available on weekdays. Check the current official booking-service hours rather than assuming a weekend cannot produce a useful date.
Does an SMS mean the appointment is held for me?
No. It tells you a matching opening was detected. You review availability and confirm the change through DVSA.
