The GOV.UK centre finder search for NP23 6AA returned Merthyr Tydfil at Merthyr Industrial Park in Pentrebach, Abergavenny on Station Road and Brecon on Camden Road. All three listings offer car tests. The search also returned Newport (Gwent), but that farther option is not included in this three-centre comparison; do not add it simply because it appeared in the results.
For Ebbw Vale, the choice is not just a list of towns. Consider which direction works for you, where you take lessons, and whether your instructor can help you practise around the venue. A centre that looks possible on a screen may not be sensible for your test-day journey. NP23 6AA is one representative postcode. Check your own address with the official finder and talk through unfamiliar routes with your instructor before widening your options.
If you already hold a test appointment, the centres returned by the finder are not automatically places you can transfer to. Your GOV.UK account shows the move options for your existing booking. Check that list first, particularly before choosing a farther location such as Brecon or considering any alternative not included here.
From Ebbw Vale, compare the practical direction of each journey as well as the centre name. Your instructor can help decide which roads and venue are realistic for practice before you add another option.
Use the waiting figures as context
The published figures are booking-to-test waiting information; DriveSooner alerts separately look for earlier appointments matching your preferences.
Choose an earliest date you could attend and include only venues that work for your travel and preparation. Our Merthyr Tydfil cancellation service focuses on that location. To compare all three, start with Merthyr Tydfil, Abergavenny and Brecon selected and remove any you would not use. DriveSooner checks throughout the day and sends an instant SMS link when a matching earlier slot is detected. Review the details and claim it through GOV.UK.
