Coastal and inland choices
The official GOV.UK centre finder search for LL32 8AA returned Bangor at Llandegai Industrial Estate, Rhyl on Victoria Road and Bala at Penllyn Workshops. Each listed car tests. Bangor and Rhyl offer two different coastal directions to weigh; Bala is an inland alternative, not simply another name for a North Wales coast centre.
Start with your instructor and your own travel plans. Where have you practised? Could your instructor help you prepare around the centre you choose? Would reaching it be straightforward on the day? The answer may favour a familiar coastal option over a farther inland journey, or the reverse if you have a good reason to consider Bala. The finder checked one representative postcode, not every Conwy address, so search your own postcode before finalising your options.
If you already hold a test appointment, distinguish nearby car-test venues from centres your booking lets you move to. The GOV.UK finder confirms the centre and test category, while change options depend on the booked centre. Check the options in your account rather than assuming every result near Conwy is eligible.
For Conwy, consider whether the coast-side options at Bangor or Rhyl fit your lessons better than the inland option at Bala. Discuss the routes with your instructor before adding another centre.
Use the waiting figures as context
The published figures are booking-to-test waiting information; DriveSooner alerts separately look for earlier appointments matching your preferences.
Choose a date range you can honour and a sensible set of venues. If Bangor is the right fit, our Bangor cancellation service focuses on that centre. Or start with Bangor, Rhyl and Bala selected and change the list to suit you. DriveSooner checks for earlier tests throughout the day and sends an instant SMS link when it finds a slot matching your settings. Use the link to review the appointment and claim it through GOV.UK; receiving an alert does not reserve it.
Conwy cancellation questions
Can I focus on Bangor?
Yes. Keep Bangor as your only selected centre if that is where you want to take your test. You can add another listed option if it also suits your travel and practice.
How should I choose between the centres?
Ask your instructor which venues they can help you prepare for, then weigh that against your travel plans. Choose only the centres you would genuinely attend.
How do earlier-slot alerts work?
DriveSooner checks throughout the day. When it detects a slot matching your preferences, it sends an instant SMS with a link so you can review and claim it on GOV.UK.
DriveSooner checks for DVSA cancellations throughout the day and sends fast alerts when an earlier slot appears. Most customers find an earlier test within 1-3 days.
